You might know him as Dr. Anderson, adjunct professor of operations and human resources in the School of Business and Management. But to the deaf and blind children in the Russian city of Sergiev Posad, Verl Anderson is something of a hero. In the summer of 2011, Dr. Erin Carr-Jordan, chair of the graduate psychology program at Kaplan University, took her children to a play area in a fast-food restaurant. During the visit, she saw broken and failing equipment, rotting food, obscene graffiti, grime and filth, and what she later learned was fecal contamination. This fateful day launched her quest... If you watched or attended the Graduation Ceremony this past March, Ashley Shaw might look familiar to you—or rather, she might sound familiar to you. Ashley was the graduation vocalist for Kaplan University’s commencement ceremony, where she sang the national anthem before a crowd of approximately 4,500 people. |
